Serve your appetizers with this creamy light and flavorful yogurt dip. Filled with garden-fresh flavors this dip has a cool, refreshing creamy texture. If you are throwing a sports/movie night party or attending one, forget about the same old regular ready to serve dips and try this instead. I love to snack on carrots and cucumber sticks with this dip. This cool and refreshing dip goes well with baked chips, french fries, tortilla chips, spicy potato wedges, or even as a salad dressing.
Time: 20mins Serves: 3-4 ( 230g bowl )
Ingredients
- 200g Greek yogurt ( or hung curd )
- 2 medium-size spring onions.
- 3 cloves Garlic
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp oil for frying
Method
- Cut and separate spring onion bulb, and garlic. On medium heat add a tablespoon of oil and fry the onion and garlic until golden brown. Set aside.
2. Finely chop spring onion shoots. Leave some aside for garnishing.
3. In a bowl combine yogurt, caramelized garlic onions, and spring onion shoots. Gently mix with a spoon.
4. Keep the dip refrigerated until you are ready to serve. Allowing the dip to sit in the refrigerator will keep it fresh and accumulate more flavor.
5. Garnish a with few spring onion shoots and serve.
If you want more flavor, you can try adding a pinch of roasted ground cumin. This dip is very easy to make and is always a showstopper for my guest. It’s healthy, light, creamy, and packs a garden-fresh flavor. If you are wondering, I have been using homegrown spring onions lately for all sorts of things.
Hands-down, these homegrown spring onions taste better than packaged ones.
